Our Moving Process:

We aim to make moving from Australia to Europe as straightforward as possible. From your first quote through to delivery at your new home, our team will coordinate each stage of your international move.

Request a Quote:

Start by completing our Quick Quote form with details of your move, or call 1300 732 686 to speak directly with one of our Moving Consultants. In many cases, we can provide an initial quote over the phone.

In Home or Virtual Survey:

For larger moves, we can arrange an obligation-free in-home or virtual survey to accurately assess the volume of belongings you’re taking.

Virtual surveys are conducted via FaceTime or WhatsApp, giving you a convenient alternative to having a Moving Consultant visit your home.

Professional Packing Services:

On packing day, our experienced team will professionally pack, wrap and prepare your belongings for international transportation.

At least one adult should remain available at the property during packing in case our crew has any questions. Where possible, we recommend arranging for young children and pets to be elsewhere, as packing day can be busy and unfamiliar for them.

Shipping Your Belongings:

Depending on the size of your shipment, destination, timeframe and budget, your belongings may travel by Groupage (shared container), LCL, Full Container Load (FCL) or air freight.

Once your shipment has departed, we’ll send you the relevant shipping information, including vessel details, container details where applicable, estimated departure and arrival dates, and the contact details of the destination agent handling your shipment.

International shipping schedules can change, so we’ll keep you informed of any updates we’re made aware of during the journey.

Customs & Documentation:

Customs requirements vary between European countries. We’ll provide you with relevant customs information during the quoting or pre-move survey stage, so you know what documentation and requirements apply before your belongings are shipped.

We’ll also coordinate with our trusted European destination partner to help ensure the required moving and customs documentation is in place.

Arrival & Delivery:

When your belongings arrive in Europe, our destination partner will contact you and coordinate the next stages of your move, including customs clearance and delivery arrangements.

Once customs and any other applicable clearance requirements have been completed, they’ll arrange delivery to your new home. If your belongings need to be stored before delivery, storage can also be arranged.

A little preparation can make your international move much easier. We recommend contacting us as early as you can, particularly if you’re moving an entire household or have specific dates you’d like to work towards.

You don’t need to have everything finalised before requesting a quote. Even if your visa, moving date or destination address is still being confirmed, our Moving Consultants can start discussing your move and the shipping options available.

Check Your Visa & Residency Requirements

Visa and residency requirements vary considerably between European countries and will depend on your individual circumstances.

Check the current requirements with the relevant government or immigration authority for the country you’re moving to and allow plenty of time for any applications or approvals.

Your visa doesn’t need to be finalised before you contact us about your move.

Understand the Customs Requirements

Each European country has its own requirements for importing household goods and personal belongings.

We’ll provide relevant customs information during the quoting or pre-move survey stage, including the applicable FIDI Customs Guide where available. This will help you understand the documentation, restricted goods and import requirements for your destination before your belongings are shipped.

Our destination partner will also assist with the customs clearance process when your shipment arrives.

You’ll be responsible for providing complete and accurate information and documentation relating to your shipment, so it’s important to read the information provided and ask us if you’re unsure about anything.

Decide What You’re Taking

Before your move, start thinking about what you’d like to take with you, leave behind, sell or place into storage.

You don’t need to have a final list before speaking with us. An in-home or virtual survey via FaceTime or WhatsApp can help us assess what you’re considering taking, calculate the approximate volume and discuss the shipping options available.

Leave the Packing to Us

When it’s time to move, our experienced international removalists can professionally pack and prepare your belongings for international transportation.

We use different packing methods and materials depending on the item, from everyday household belongings and furniture through to artwork, fragile pieces and other special items.

Plan for the Time Your Belongings Are in Transit

Sea freight takes time, so think about what you’ll need between leaving Australia and receiving your shipment in Europe.

Keep important documents, medication and other essentials with you, and consider taking enough clothing and personal items to cover the period before your main shipment arrives.

For belongings you’d like sooner, air freight may also be an option for a smaller shipment.
