When should I book my move?
Ideally it is best to book your overseas move at least four weeks prior to the move. In saying that we appreciate the busy lifestyles that people now lead and can normally work within your requirements except in peak times such as Christmas.
We can organise your move in less time if required.
How will you move my belongings and how long will the move take?
When moving overseas we primarily ship your belongings. It goes without saying that if items are required quickly, we can airfreight your items.
Of course the time the move takes depends on the distance being moved. As a general rule it can take anywhere from 4-16 weeks for your goods to arrive at the country of your destination.
Will my cartons be unpacked on arrival?
If Overseas Packers & Shippers have packed your cartons, your belongings will be unpacked to your benchtop or flat surface.
If you have elected to pack your cartons yourself, then the cartons will be left in the appropriate room for you to unpack yourself.
Valet Unpacking Services similar to our Finishing Touch service is available with all our partners for additional cost.
Can I pack my own belongings?
You can pack your own boxes however boxes packed by the owner may not be covered by insurance. Whilst it may appear that you are saving money if you pack yourself, in the long run this may be false economy.
Post 9/11, Customs requirements in every country have strengthened and packed by owner personal effects come under high scruitiny that could eventuate in Customs examination and inspection fees not included in your quotation. Some countries such as the USA and Canada do not look favourably upon boxes that are packed by owner and will undertake extensive examination at your cost.

Please note: boxes packed by a removals company often move through customs more quickly than those packed by the owner.
Paying for the move
Moves overseas must be paid prior to pick up of your goods. Payment can be made by cash, direct debit, credit card (excl. Diners and American Express) and cheque, however funds need to be cleared into our bank account prior to arrival / departure.
Yes, you can pack your own boxes. However, boxes packed by the owner may not be covered by insurance. This will only cover loss, not any breakages. While it may appear as if you are saving money by packing your own boxes, in the long run this generally isn’t the case.
