When should I book my move?
Ideally it is best to book your move to Australia at least four weeks prior to the move. In saying that we appreciate the busy lifestyles that people now lead and can normally work with in with your requirements except in peak times such as Christmas.
We can organise your move in less time is required.
How will you move my belongings and how long will the move take?
When moving to Australia we primarily ship your belongings. It goes without saying that if items are required quickly, we can airfreight your items.
Of course the time the move takes depends on the distance being moved. As a general rule it can take anywhere from 4-16 weeks for your goods to arrive in Australia from your country of departure.
Will Overseas Packers & Shippers unpack my cartons?
If you have elected to pack your cartons yourself, then the cartons will be left in the appropriate room for you to unpack yourself.
If we have arranged for your cartons to be packed on your behalf your belongings will be unpacked to your benchtop or flat surface. Of course you could take advantage of our Valet Unpacking Service where we can offer services such as unpacking your items directly into your cupboards and making your beds with fresh linen. Can I pack my own belongings?
You can pack your own boxes, however boxes packed by the owner may not be covered by insurance. Whilst it may appear that you are saving money if you pack yourself, in the long run this may be false economy.
Post 9/11, Customs requirements in every country have strengthened and packed by owner personal effects come under high scruitiny that could eventuate in Customs examination and inspection fees not included in your quotation.
Please note: boxes packed by a removalist company ofen move through customs more quickly than those packed by the owner.
Paying for the move
As a general rule moves must be paid prior to the collection of your belongings.In some instances we will accept payment 2 weeks prior to the vessel docking in Australia. Payment can be made by direct debit, credit cards (excl. Diners) and cheque, however funds need to be cleared into our bank account prior to collection of your belongings.
